My 8 year old is my beta reader, and the fact that he finished reading my middle grade manuscript, (about a girl who wants to learn how to sew) and has been stealing pillows, socks, stuffies and duct tape to make dress forms, is about the most encouraging compliment that a mature beginning writer can possibly experience.
My 5 year old says my book is boring and would rather that we adopt a dog and name him “Napkin”.
I love this chapter of my life. I’ve always loved to draw, and have enjoyed multiple careers in Design, Visual Art and Costuming. I’ve been a Sewing Shop Proprietress and an Independent Fashion Designer. Now I illustrate, and by some miracle, I also call myself a writer. I write. I draw. I will write some more.
I love it.
